Phaco Tip 144:
AquaLase® Liquefaction Device

This is the newest method of cataract removal, and it is completely unique. Tiny (4 µl) pulses of warm BSS® irrigating solution are emitted from a smooth polymer tip of a needle that resembles an ultrasonic device. As many as 50 pulses per second can be produced, either continuously or intermittently (burst mode). The force (Magnitude) of each pulse and the pulse rate can be controlled in linear fashion.

The parameters (instrument settings) and incision size presented here have been established by the surgeon and do not reflect recommendations by Alcon.
