Recovering from Cataract Surgery

Six Months to One Year After

At this point in your post-cataract journey, you will most likely have fully adjusted to your new vision. Continue to check-in with your doctor if you have any questions about whether what you are experiencing is normal.

At Six Months

How Will I Feel? You should feel even better, your vision being optimal.

What Should I Do? Anything and everything your health allows you to.

What Should I Avoid? Provided you have no other eye diseases or disorders, your vision should not be an impediment to activity.

At One Year

At one year, and every year thereafter, you should have a complete eye exam by an eye care professional.

The recovery process described here is meant to be representative of most cataract procedures, which occur without complications. Individual results may vary.
